Vijayayatra continues in Maharashtra

On the evening of 26th October, the Jagadguru moved from Chembur Shankara Math, Mumbai to a 3 day camp at Dombivili. Many programmes took place at Dombivili. The Jagadguru visited the Jnanodaya school run by the Peetham and declared open a library there. The Jagaduru visited the South Indian Association and donated a sum of Rs. 1 lakh on behalf of the Peetham while commending it for running an educational institution for more than 6 decades.

On 29th October, the camp moved to the holy town of Nasik. At the 250-year old Nasik Sringeri Math, one of the oldest branches of the Peetham, a beautiful temple was constructed as per the directions of Jagadguru for Goddess Sharadamba and Sri Adi Shankaracharya. The Kumbhabhisheka ceremonies begun on 30th October in presence of Jagadguru.

On 30th evening a grand reception was accorded to Jagadguru by Nasik Municipal Corporation headed by Mayor Sri Vinayak Pande.

On 31st October, the Jagadguru went to Triambakeshwar and worshiped the Jyotir Linga of Lord Shiva. He also announced a sum of Rs. 1 lakh for the construction of Veda Bhavan for Shukla Yajurvedis. Jagadguru also visited the newly constructed Radhe Shyam Goshala, and announced a sum of Rs. 1 lakh as donation for that Goshala.

Guru Vandana Function at Mumbai

On 25th October, the devotees of Mumbai organized a Guru Vandana function. The Jagadguru blessed the gathering while praising the bhakti and shraddha of the devotees of Mumbai. Sri B.N.Srikrishna, the retired Judge of Supreme Court, addressed the devotees and paid respects to the Jagadguru. On 26th October, the Jagadguru gave Mantrakshata to all the devotees of Mumbai.

On 11th October 2007, Mahabhisheka of Goddess Sharadamba was performed at Sringeri Shankara Math in Mumbai in the divine presence of Jagadguru Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamigal. At noon, on the same auspicious Mahalaya Amavasya day, the Jagadguru performed the Aradhana of His Paramaguru, Jagadguru Sri Chandrashekhara Bharati Mahaswamigal. Sharannavaratri Mahotsava began the following day.

Each day during Navaratri, Parayana of Veda, Sri Shankaracharya's Bhashyas, Srimad Bhagavatam, Lalitopakhyanam were conducted in the morning as per the tradition of the Peetham. At noon, the Jagadguru performed special Puja to Goddess Sharadamba from 12 noon to 2 pm. Thousands of devotees witnessed the Puja performed by the Jagadguru and became more blessed. Also Suvasini Puja and Kannika Puja took place. In the evening, kritis of various Carnatic saint-composers were rendered by leading musicians. At night, after the daily Chandramuleeshwara Puja, the Jagadguru was seated in the Simhasana. Thereafter Saptashati Parayana took place followed by Mahamangalarati to Godess Sharadamba. Then Ashtavadhana Seva was performed.

On the 4th day of Navratri (15th October), Sahasra Modaka Ganapati Homa was performed. Shatachandi Yaga was begun on Panchami on 16th October and concluded on 20th October with Poornahuti performed in the Jagadguru's holy presence. The Jagadguru read out the Pattabhisheka Sarga from Valmiki Ramayana on Vijayadashami day (21st October). A grand procession of Goddess Sharadamba through the arterial needs of Chembur took place in the evening.

At Sringeri, the Mahabhisheka to Goddess Sharadamba, the Aradhana celebrations of Paramaguru Sri Chandrashekara Bharati Mahaswamigal and Navaratri celebrations took place in a grand manner under the able leadership of Guru Seva Dhurina Sri V R Gowrishankar.

The 18th Aradhana of Jagadguru Sri Abhinava Vidyatirtha Mahaswamigal was reverentially observed for 3 days at Sri Sringeri Shankara Math, Mumbai from October 2nd to October 4th. The Jagadguru Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamigal performed Puja to His Guru on all 3 days with the main Aradhana day falling on October 3rd (Bhadrapada Krishna Saptami). In Sringeri, the Aradhana of Sri Sri Mahasannidhanam, who adorned the Vyakhyana Simhasana as the 35th Jagadguru for a period of 35 years from 1954 to 1989, was celebrated with Pujas on all the three days at His sacred Adhisthanam at Narasimhavana.
