Mahashivaratri Celebrations

On March 5th, Mahashivaratri day, the Jagadguru worshipped Lord Sthambha Ganapati and Lord Malahanikareshwara from 12 noon to 3 PM. The Mahashivaratri Puja to Lord Chandramoulishwara was performed by the Jagadguru throughout the night at Guru Nivas with hundreds of devotees chanting Sri Rudram and Chamakam. A few hours after the Mahashivaratri Puja’s completion on March 6th, Poornahuti to Maharudra Yaga was performed in the Jagadguru’s Divine Presence. This was followed by Maharathotsava of Lord Malahanikareshwara on 8th, Sandhanotsava on 9th and Teppotsava on the 10th. The Jagadguru graced the Rathotsava and Teppotsava.

Durgamba Rathotsava

On March 14th, Durgamba Rathotsava was celebrated at Sringeri. At noon, the Jagadguru performed a special Puja to Vana Durga, the guardian deity installed by Sri Adi Shankaracharya to the south of Sringeri. The Rathotsava was conducted at 4 PM.

On March 23rd, the Jagadguru started on a 3-day camp and reached Ambale. The following day, the Jagadguru performed the Punah Prathistha of Sri Venugopalaswamy temple at Ambale and reached the Chikmagalur Shankara Math in the evening. On March 25th, the Jagadguru inaugurated a Pravachana Mandiram at the Math premises. The Jagadguru next camped at Birur and performed the Punah Prathistha of Sri Rama temple at Birur on March 26th and returned to Sringeri the same evening. On March 27th, the Jagadguru started from Sringeri in the morning to grace Neerulli and performed the Jeernoddhaarana Kumbhabhishekha of Sri Pattabhirama temple.

On April 1st, the Jagadguru visited Kesave in Koppa Taluk and conducted the Kumbhabhishekha of Sri Lakshmi Venkataramanaswamy temple.
