On July 29th, the Jagadguru performed Vyasa Puja as per the tradition and took the Chaturmasya Sankalpa. On the day, revered as Guru Poornima, Sri Sri Sannidhanam worshipped three Jagadgurus, namely Lord Sri Krishna, Bhagavan Veda Vyasa and Sri Adi Shankara Bhagavatpada along with their disciples. The Jagadguru also performed Archana chanting the Slokas from the Guru Parampara Stotram of the Peetham. Many disciples witnessed the event. Maharashtra Chief Minister Sri Vilasrao Deshmukh was also present on the auspicious occasion and received the Jagadguru's Blessings. On 30th, the Jagadguru performed Uttara Puja and blessed the devotees with Prasadam.

The Jagaduru arriving in Mumbai after 13 years was given a warm and reverential welcome by a large gathering of disciples on July 26th evening at the outskirts of the city. A long procession as part of the reception to the Jagadguru culminated in the Sri Sringeri Shankara Math located in Chembur. Having reached the Math, the Jagadguru had Darshan of Sri Mahaganpati, Sri Sharada Parameshwari, Sri Adi Shankaracharya and Juna Hanuman.

A Jagadguru Swagata Sabha was organized where Dhuli Pada Puja to the Jagadguru was performed on behalf of all disciples of Mumbai by the president of Sharada seva samithi and Math Administrator Sri V.R.Gowrishankar. Welcome addresses were then read out in Sanskrit and Marathi by ardent disciples. State Minister Sri Patangrao Kadam offered his respectful Pranams.

After the welcome addresseses, homage was paid to Sri Acharyal by authorities of various temples in Mumbai such as Sri Siddhi Vinayak Temple, Sri Shankara Math at Matunga, Bhakta Anjeneya Temple, Mumbadevi Temple, Sri Bhajan Samaj at Matunga, Sri Subramanya Samaj at Chedda Nagar, Bhakta Sangam at Mulund, Kannika Paramewshwari Temple at Matunga, Sri Ahobila Math at Chembur, Sri Bharathi Sharada Charitable Trust at Mulund, South Indian Organisation (Vani Vidyalaya) at Mulund, Mulund Bhajan Samaj , Sri Sringeri Jagatguru Seva Samithi at Dombivli, etc.

The Jagadguru then gave a thrilling Anugraha Bhashanam in chaste Hindi - "The descent of Sri Adi Shankara Bhagavatpada was to revive Sanatana Dharma and Jagadguru Sri Shankaracharya had established the four Amnaya Peethams across the country. There has always been a close connection between Sri Sharada Peetham, at Sringeri and Maharashtra. About 250 years ago, the 28th and 29th Acharyas of the Peetham had resided in Nasik for a few years. Their Adhishtanams are at Panchavati. Our Parameshti Guru Jagadguru Sri Sacchidananda Shivabhinava Nrisimha Bharati Mahaswamigal had visited Kolhapur 120 years back and had stayed there for 15 days. Our revered Guru Sri Abhinava Vidhyatheertha Mahaswamigal visited Mumbai in 1967 and performed Chaturmasya Vrata and Sharan Navarathri which is ever green in the minds of the people. We came here in 1992 for the Kumbhabhishekam of this temple and observed Chaturmasya Vrata and then once again in 1994 for about 15 days."

The Jagadguru addressing thousands of disciples, said that the people of Maharashtra are very devoted to the Sringeri Jagadgurus, as was evident during the present visit also. The Jagadguru blessed all to come in large numbers and be a part of the various Pujas and auspicious functions to be held during Chaturmasya, followed by the Aradhanas of His Guru and Paramaguru, and the Sharannavaratri Celebrations.

On 28th, Maharashtra Governor Sri S M Krishna had Darshan of the Jagadguru at the Shankara Math.

The Jagadguru then arrived at Pune where He participated in a number of programmes. The Jagadguru worshipped Dagadu Seth Halwai Ganapati. The trustees of the temple received the H.H. in a grand manner and presented a humble offering of One lakh Rs. H.H. graced the Veda Shastrottejaka Sabha and released a book Taittiriya Aranyaka published by the Sabha, laid the foundation stones for a Research Centre and Dental College at the Bharathi Vidyapeeth University. The Jagadguru visited the Ganesh temple run by Keshav Mitra Mandal where the members of the Mandal received Rs. 10,000/- from the Jagadguru on behalf of the Peetham towards Go Samrakshana. The Jagadguru also graced a number of Dharmic institutions such as Vaidika Samshodana Mandal, Sripada Seva Mandal, Sahasrabuddhi Mandir and Gita Dharma Mandal. The Jagadguru performed Puja at the shrines of Sri Mahaganpati, Sri Sharada Parameshwari and Sri Adi Shankaracharya at the Sringeri Shankar Math in Pune.

From there the Jagadguru graced the towns of Karad and Baaraamati and reached Ahmed Nagar on the evening of July 9th where a grand procession was organized for His welcome. On 11th, the Jagadguru performed the Prathistha Kumbhabhisheka of Lord Dattatreya shrined in a magnificent temple constructed by the disciples of Sri Ramakrishna Ksheersagar Brahmachariji. The Jagadguru rendered an Anugraha Bhashana the same evening in a Guru Vandana programme. On 12th the Jagadguru graced the 'Sanatana Dharma Sabha' which is 100 years old in Ahmednagar and laid the foundation stone for Gayatri temple there. The Jagadguru blessed a Sanskrit quarterly magazine named "Gunjarava" with ten thousand rupees. The Jagadguru then graced the town of Daund on July 14th and arrived at Satara on 15th. On 16th the Jagadguru graced the Veda Pathashala at Satara being run under the auspices of the Peetham. The Jagadguru blessed a public function where the people of Satara gave a grand reception to the Jagadguru. The Jagadguru addressed the gathering with a splendid discourse. On the 17th, marking the Dakshinayana Punya Kala - the Karkataka Sankramana, the Jagadguru bathed in the sangam of Krishna and Venya river near Satara and had Darshan at the Kasi Vishweshwara Swamy temple.

The Jagadguru entered Maharashtra on July 4 by arriving at Kolhapur. On 5th, the Jagadguru performed Puja to Goddess Mahalakshmi at the famous temple in Kolhapur. He then visited the Karaveera Math where Sri Vidyanrisimha Bharati Swamiji reverentially welcomed the Jagadguru and performed Pada Puja. From Kolhapur the Jagadguru proceeded to Saangli where He worshipped Lord Siddhi Vinayak the next day, blessed the devotees and arrived at Narasimhavadi by the evening of July 6th. The Jagadguru then had Darshan at Sri Dattatreya temple. On the morning of 7th, the Jagadguru performed a Puja to the holy Padukas of Lord Dattatreya.

Jagadguru continues North Karnataka Tour

On July 1st evening, the Jagadguru continuing His Yatra in North Karnataka started from Hubli and arrived at Soudatti. On 2nd July morning after performing Puja to Sri Mahaganapati, Sri Sharada Parameshwari, Sri Adi Shankara, Sri Chandramoulishwara, Sri Lakshmi Narayana and Sri Dattatreya at the Shankara Math. The Jagadguru also installed the Murti of Anjaneya Swami, performed Kumbhabhisheka and delivered Anugraha Bhashanam. The Jagadguru arrived at Belgaum the same evening. Dhooli Pada Puja to the Jagadguru was performed at the Chidambareshwara temple.

On 3rd, the Jagadguru had Darshan at the temples of Sri Vidyaganapati and Sri Vittal. He also graced Brahmananda Gurukula Vedapathashala and the Chinmaya Mission. In the evening, a Guru Vandana programme was held at the Gandhi Bhavan, where the Jagadguru blessed the citizens of Belgaum with an Anugraha Bhashanam. On 4th, the Jagadguru graced the 10th Anniversary celebrations of Samartha Urban Cooperative Society and delivered Ashirvachan. He also visited and blessed the inmates of KMC Hospital and the Maheshwari School for blind children.
